2024 Frequent Business Traveler Holiday Gift Guide: Diamond Edition

While Hanukkah and Christmas are just around the corner, every day is a great day to buy something splurge-worthy… and we have all of the best ideas for doing just that. This Holiday Gift Guide has been a tradition at Frequent Business Traveler and The Travelist since 2012, a tradition almost as old as our annual report on the New Year’s Eve cult classic, “Dinner for One.”

We know where you can find all of the best indulgences, from artful lamps that make a sphere appear to float to an amazing Austrian thick-boiled wool hat that’s perfect for skiing, hunting, snowboarding, climbing, ice fishing, or any other winter sport one can think of.

A new indulgence will be added every day for the remainder of the year, so stay tuned. It could be new Apple Home home automation tools; kinky books; sensible yet stylish compression socks; a parfum that attracts humans, not bugs; or an Apple AirTag compatible card that fits neatly into a credit card wallet.

There will be the best splurge-worthy homeware as well as décor items a recipient will cherish forever, including luxury scents and lotions, a dog collar that includes an owner headlamp, and rechargeable lithium batteries in holiday colors.

MOLTON BROWN ORANGE & BERGAMOT HAND WASH AND HAND LOTION,  BLACK PEPPER AND ROSE DUNES EAU DE PARFUMS

Molton Brown’s Orange & Bergamot Hand Wash and Hand Lotion starts with Sevillian orange oil with hints of bergamot and a pleasant orange blossom aroma. After washing, pamper your hands with the Orange & Bergamot Hand Lotion and you’ll have to explain to friends (or inquisitive strangers) why you discreetly keep sniffing your hands. Afterwards, depending on your mood, try the iconic Re-charge Black Pepper Eau de Parfum for its hedonistic sophistication or go hypnotic with the ssumptuously blooming Roses Dunes Eau de Parfum with spicy saffron, velvety rose and its signature note of dark patchouli Sulawesi.

Molton Brown items start at $60 at www.moltonbrown.com

DACHSTEIN ALPINE HAT AND ACCESSORIES

DACHSTEIN ALPINE HAT AND ACCESSORIES

Should you or a gift recipient of yours turn up for his next winter activity wearing the Dachstein Alpine Cap and stand out in the crowd, not only for keeping nice and warm up top but also for its unique Austrian Alpine style.

The Dachsteingebirge, or Dachstein mountain range,  comprises the highest mountains in Oberösterreich (Upper Austria) and in Steiermark  (Styria). The hat, made of thick-boiled wool and offered in a striking two tone mele grey wool weave, is perfect for skiing, hunting, snowboarding, climbing, ice fishing, or any other winter sport one can think.

Consider gifting your recipient a pair of Dachstein three- or four-play socks and the four-ply extreme warm mittens to complete the package – and you might want to get a Dachstein Fine Kamgarn Wool Military Sweater, available in cardigan or pullover styles.

Dachstein Alpine Hat and Accessories start at $47.95 at www.sweaterchalet.com

NOMAD FIND MY TRACKING CARD

NOMAD FIND MY TRACKING CARD

Nomad’s Qi-rechargeable Find My Tracking Card may be the most valuable gift one could give during during the holiday season, especially if the recipient happens to misplace or lose his wallet in the course of the coming year.

The super thin Tracking Card is about the thickness of two credit cards (roughly 2. mm), so it doesn’t crowd out other cards in a wallet, unlike putting an Apple AirTag in one’s wallet, which takes the space of at least four cards. While there are other Find My cards on the market, this is by far the thinnest and during our tests of the Nomad card, it never failed to make its location known using Apple’s global Find My network, regardless of how great the distance might be.

Perhaps the best thing is the built-in rechargeable battery. Nomad says that battery life is approximate five months and it’s far easier to recharge the Tracking Card on a Qi-charger than it is to take an AirTag out of its cover, open up the shell, and change the battery.
